    Meet Brandon

    Brandon Grimes brings a wide range of experience to The Permanent Record, LLC. He has worked in a broad variety of fields his entire adult life, from journalism and self-storage management to assisting salespeople in cable advertising and insurance. His current “day job” is that of a data management specialist for a government contractor.

    Brandon has had a lifelong affair with the written word, and he is at his best when he has the opportunity to craft a well-written message. In addition, Brandon is well-educated in the Microsoft Office suite and, at last check, had a documented typing speed of over 90 wpm. He is currently updating his knowledge of Macromedia’s Dreamweaver and Flash. His attention to detail, can-do attitude, willingness to learn and quick response time has impressed many of his previous employers.

    After a hiatus in his college career, Brandon completed his bachelor’s degree in business management at Indiana Wesleyan University in December 2005; his GPA for the core of classes required to graduate from IWU was a 4.0. Before that, he majored in journalism with a minor in political science at Indiana University, and was 4th in his high school graduating class of 50.

    Some awards that Brandon has garnered include multiple region-wide awards for Employee of the Quarter from Insight Media, as well as 2003’s region-wide Employee of the Year award from the same organization. His peers in his office at that company voted him “Team Player of the Year” in 2003. In addition, his classmates at Indiana Wesleyan voted him “Outstanding Professional,” an award that was based on such criteria as leadership, integrity, initiative, enthusiasm, character, achievement, cooperation and trustworthiness. Brandon was also a Dow Jones Newspaper Fund intern in 1996, and spent that summer at the features copydesk at Long Island’s Newsday.

    Brandon is happily married to Lucy, and is the proud father of a 2-year-old son. He is an avid reader, and also enjoys blogging, listening to music, sports, and playing Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit. He dreams of one day being selected as a Jeopardy contestant. Brandon has also vowed to spend more time outdoors this year.
